SL Course Survey
The Office of Service-Learning conducts a Service-Learning Course Survey at the end of each semester. The survey gauges students’ experiences and feedback on the service-learning aspect of the class, providing important campus-wide information on service-learning’s outcomes. It is anonymous, but we do ask students to specify their course, so each participating faculty member is provided detailed feedback on their individual course(s).
If you teach a course with a service-learning component, please consider having your students participate in the survey. Both online and paper versions are available.
Deadline for signing up for participation in the Spring 2012 course survey is March 30, 2012. See below for details.
How to Sign Up a Class to Take the Survey
Faculty members have two options available for taking part in the SL course survey. Either students will receive a direct email for the online survey (preferred); or the survey can be administered in the classroom by staff of the Office of Service-Learning. The online survey is recommended, but the paper survey is available if the faculty member prefers to have the survey administered during a class period and cannot schedule a computer lab.
For the online survey faculty members will be contacted directly and asked to supply their course rolls. The Office of Service-Learning will send emails to students enrolled in participating service-learning courses. Faculty will also be supplied a link to add to their online courses if appropriate and will be asked to encourage students to participate. In addition, if you have access to a computer lab, please consider scheduling in-class time for students to fill out the online survey to increase participation.
For the paper survey faculty members will be contacted directly to schedule a date and time for the Office of Service-Learning to administer the survey directly to their class.
