Kaeli Rose Evans graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations at Goshen College in 2013. Before graduating, she worked with a community organization promoting local businesses and shop-local campaigns in Goshen, Ind., as well as a non-profit fair-trade retail store as the assistant manager and marketing director. After marrying her college sweet-heart, she moved to Athens with her husband in 2014 so he could pursue a joint-graduate degree program at the University of Georgia in Historic Preservation and Law. Kaeli found work in a near-by town with Georgia’s Main Street program, where she organized city-wide events and promoted city services. In February, she began her dream job as an AmeriCorps VISTA working with Campus Kitchen at UGA to fight senior hunger and food waste. Kaeli would like to expand Campus Kitchen’s reach to the community using her communications and marketing skills while training UGA students in non-profit public relations practices. She hopes to use the knowledge she learns in her year-long service to eventually attend graduate school in public health or dietetics. When she’s not working, she’s likely exploring new restaurants in town or bothering her husband about adopting more cats.
