Alison Doherty serves as the graduate assistant for Experience UGA and is working towards her M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Administration. Before coming to UGA, Alison earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education & Elementary Education in 2016 from Elon University. Most recently, she worked as a special education resource teacher at an elementary school in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she worked with K-2 students with mild to moderate disabilities. Originally from Wakefield, Massachusetts, Alison is excited to be making Athens her new home. She loves to travel and spend time outdoors hiking, going on bike rides, and playing tennis. She also enjoys her time to unwind by reading or watching Netflix (usually The Office). Alison is looking forward to engaging with students in the Clarke County community. She hopes to contribute towards the program’s mission of increasing students’ excitement for learning as well as showing them that higher education is attainable and pique their interest in possible majors.
