Ninth Grade

Hosted at the Tate Student Center and partnered with the Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities, Odum School of Ecology 

During this trip, students will learn about a variety of careers in science and diverse areas of study in the sciences. The CCSD students will rotate through participating in a screening and discussion of the “Chasing Coral” film, an admissions panel, and science expo with booths featuring hands-on activities and presentations from various UGA groups or research labs.

Tenth Grade

Hosted at the College of Environmental and Design 

Students will rotate through several activities hosted by the College of Environment and Design (CED). This interdisciplinary trip will allow students the opportunity to reflect on “their place in the world” through their interactions in their daily environments. Students will explore how history, science, and art influences designs for buildings and landscapes, and they will take a tour of UGA’s North Campus to observe its design features. Students will study technical skills used in environmental and design work, practice designing a space for their school, and have the opportunity to create and explain their own design projects.

Eleventh Grade

Hosted at the Special Collections Libraries and partnered with the School of Public and International Affairs and the Terry College of Business

During this trip, 11th grade students will participate in a informational panel with UGA students and representatives from the Terry College of Business, the School of International and Public Affairs, and the Special Collections Libraries. Afterwards, students will have the opportunity to engage with two of the three areas where they will participate in activities on Human and Civil Rights: School of Public & International Affairs, Terry College of Business, or the Special Collections Library. Students will all attend the Special Collections Library component and either the activity with the Terry College of Business or the School of Public & International Affairs.

Twelfth Grade

Partnered with the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, the School of Law, the UGA Health Center, and the Career Center 

During this trip, students will engage with a variety of professionals and faculty from across campus on a broad range of topics, including personal finance, managing personal and professional relationships, and what it means to be over 18. They will also have the opportunity to engage in a Life 101 simulation of responsibilities after high-school graduation.
