These trips are hosted for every student enrolled in the Clarke County School District at their respective grade level.
Sixth Grade
Partnered and hosted by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, The Red & Black, and the Division of Marketing & Communications
In this trip, students engage in activities surrounding communication, journalism and social media careers. Students participate in global journalism activities at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a tour of the first floor of the college; they explore the process of crafting newsletters with The Red & Black; and they learn from the many careers in marketing and communications from professionals at UGA.

Seventh Grade
Partnered by and hosted at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and UGArden Student Farm
In this trip, 7th grade students learn about urban farming through composting and beekeeping activities, and they will participate in vegetable taste tests at the UGArden, UGA’s student-led organic garden. Then, they will conduct science experiments to explore forest ecosystems as they hike through the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.

Eighth Grade
Partnered by the Mary Frances Early College of Education and the UGA Department of History and hosted at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections Libraries.
Students will explore Georgia history as they tour the exhibits at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections Libraries, participate in a walking tour of UGA’s North Campus, and view historical media footage at the library.
