Experience UGA is a partnership between the Clarke County School District and the University of Georgia, which aims to bring every Clarke County student (PreK-12) to UGA every year to experience learning on a university campus.

Students who begin pre-school in a Clarke County school will have at least 14 opportunities to visit the university by the time they graduate. The vision is two-fold: first, students’ learning will be enhanced through hands-on, curricular-based activities in a university environment; and second, Clarke County students will be exposed to a broad array of opportunities and come to view post-secondary education as an attainable option for their future.

Experience UGA:

  • Fosters a sense of excitement about higher education. Clarke County students feel welcomed and encouraged to consider post-secondary options in their future.
  • Meets the curricular goals of schools and teachers. Trip hosts work with teachers and administrators to make sure the learning on campus is meaningful and relevant to learning in the classroom. Clarke County teachers and students will receive information and activity ideas to prepare them for the trip. After the trip, they will receive material connecting concepts from the field trip to classroom learning.
  • Provides a fun, interactive learning experience. Clarke County students explore a variety of activities that are engaging and fun, as well as interact with hundreds of college students!
  • Brings together the community and the university. Clarke County students and teachers and UGA students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to engage and connect over education.
